Course information

Sailing for teens - Fun, Flexible program

Program adapted to the skill levels of each sailor

Term 3, 2026 starts July 23

4pm - 6.30 pm

6 week course

Includes sailing Pacers, Vibes

Paddleboarding

Powerboat handling and safety skills

Develop racing skills

Included: Boat hire, Sail Pass or TSC membership, safety equipment & Australian Sailing qualified Instructors / Coaches.

What to bring:  Clothing suitable for sailing including long sleave clothing or stinger suits, foot protection (wet shoes), hats, towel & change of clothes.  

Note: long sleaves, leggings, stinger suits, or similar are mandatory during Stinger Seasons.

This Youth Program is supported by Townsville Sailing as part of the Club's continual commitment to support Teenagers in Sport.

Non members

$165 Term fee includes a temporary TSC membership for the term.

$120 Term Fee - current Youth or Family Members

Please Note:     

  • If you do not have an existing Australian Sailing Number - please select SIGN UP - then select Full membership (event/course participant $0) This will activate your introductory membership to TSC and generate an Australian Sailing number.
  • The following personal equipment is highly recommended at all times:  Stinger protection (such as long sleaves, leggings or stinger suit), hat, foot protection for on and off the water, sun glasses, towel, change of clothes 
  • Please note refunds will incur a 10% fee
  • Minimum and Maximum participants apply.

 


Overview
OutThere Sailing Experience sessions are all about having fun and getting a taste for on water activities. This action-packed program will give you the opportunity to try one or all the following, sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding, powerboating and keelboating. Depending on your club, experience sessions will be held over 2-4 hours.

Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this experience?

This experience is designed for participants who are 12-17 years-old looking to try a new activity, have some fun and engage with other teenagers.
