MAST – Monday Afternoon Sail Training Guidelines – Information

Regular attendance for each term is essential and will benefit sailors sailing ability.

Junior racing squad to further develop their skills, maintaining a focus on race techniques.

If you are wanting extra support with your sailing techniques or are wanting to improve your racing results MAST is for you!

Specific coaching for Sabots, yet open to all ages and classes of dinghies - participants must be club members.

$40 per person - please register online and pay in advance, bring your own boat or hire (by approval) - use participants name when registering.

Opti's available ($40 per term/pay online) - Other classes by arrangement - please ask

Own boat no additional charge

Opportunity for sailors to spend time on the water with a safety boat and coach, run by club volunteers.

Sessions are structured depending on attendance numbers and sailing ability.

MAST Program (times may vary)

1530 Arrive and commence rigging boats;

1600 Quick warmup/exercise/games;

1630 Briefing - then on water asap

On-water training until sunset;

1830 Off water, de-rigging, debrief.

Parents/Carers Assistance

Assistance is appreciated with all aspects of MAST. There are many different areas to help in, such as beach marshal, safety boat, rigging and de-rigging. Parents involvement in the sport is required at this level, please ask if you are usure how to help out.
